Domain Experts For Our Next CWG

We are delighted to introduce the domain experts who will join us at our next corporate working group meeting for sessions on Blockchain strategy and AI.


Sam Walmsley

Sam was formerly Head of Digital (EU) for Novartis Consumer Health and Global Digital Lead for BI / Lilly Diabetes Alliance and is an award-winning digital pharma strategist winning Cannes Lions, Effie, EMEA SABRE, Revolution Grand Prix and BIMA (British Interactive Media Association).

She is the founder of a digital strategy and innovation consultancy specialising in blockchain technology in healthcare based out of the Cryptovalley Labs in Zug and is a graduate of Blockchain Strategy programme from Oxford University and Said Business School. She is the founder of Blockchain Women in Switzerland and a founding member of the Oxford Blockchain Foundation.

Dr Marci Thiel

Marci is the founder of Expert-24 Ltd and Chief Innovation Officer for DoctorLink. She is the architect and co-inventor of the AI decision support technologies that underpin the Expert-24 and now the DoctorLink product suite. Marci is a world-leader in the design of clinical decision support applications, having developed solutions for many of the world’s major healthcare organisations including Mayo Clinic, United Healthcare, Bupa, AXA-PPP, and the US Department of Veterans Affairs.

Grounded in clinical practice, Marci has over 25 years of executive level management and medical informatics experience in AI decision support and knowledge automation systems. Prior to founding Expert-24, Marci was VP of Medical Affairs at McKesson Corporation and Access Health in the US.

Dean Mann

Dean is a specialist in data and complexity. He has designed technology to handle cross industry data and decision making in complex systems and for the management of chronic disease in healthcare. His experience ranges across health, telecommunications, oil & gas, aerospace, semiconductors and visual systems.

Dean’s career has been defined by commercial research and development. He worked on some of the earliest applications of what we now term as AI back in the eighties, teaching computers to see. He has developed training, quality assurance and risk assessment systems. He is now the CEO of the start-up BlakesEye which develops tools for complex systems analysis; their first clients were corporates operating in the healthcare sector.

Shuna Mason is a Partner at CMS which is the world’s 6th largest law firm by lawyer headcount and 6th largest in the UK by revenue. She has a focus on regulatory, compliance and liability issues in the digital healthcare area. She advises companies in relation to their products and business structures, and has particular experience advising manufacturers developing and delivering digital or other healthcare services in combination with products. She is actively involved in medical devices and diagnostics trade associations, including as an invited member of the MedTech Europe legal affairs committee and its ethical business code committee and has growing expertise on regulatory issues associated with the rise of artificial intelligence in healthcare and the life sciences.
