Javier has 25+ years’ experience of IT gained in industry (Colgate, GE group, Azertia) and management consulting (Accenture). He has operated at CIO level with global responsibility and has managed pan-European RnD projects. His assignments have included aspects of business development, change management, IT governance and innovation. He is also a strategic advisor for Conasa, regional development board in Northern Spain. His experience brings an understanding of the challenges of adopting disruptive change and the complexities of implementing E-health. The Iberian Market
Spain and Portugal felt significant impact from the global economic crisis, however, this has become a driver for change. As in other European countries, the main healthcare providers are just beginning to embrace digital health but some regions (in particular Catalonia) are regarded as some of the leaders in digital health in Europe. In addition, an entrepreneurial culture which was stimulated by economic challenge, dictates that organisations in both Spain and Portugal are open to new ways of working, with a rapidly growing interest in digital health from a wide range of private sector organisations.
